Tavia Bohanon, our counselor on staff, has been trained at the Relational Care Center in Austin for marriage and family counseling—and is pursuing a master’s degree in counseling. Though Tavia is not yet licensed, she is pursuing the requirements toward her license.

Tavia approaches marriage counseling by using the highly successful philosophy of the Relational Care Center in Austin. Her approach will involve offering eight hours of counseling, in two-hour formats, to couples.

This eight-hour session can be highly beneficial for both married couples and for engaged couples. It serves as a great investment toward a successful and fulfilling relationship. Tavia also provides counseling for children in one-hour formats.

Tavia is not salaried by the church. Instead, she is paid as any counselor—by those who come to her for counseling. Instead of the $50 to $100 per hour that most counselors charge, Tavia offers counseling for only $25 per hour. And for qualified individuals, a scholarship fund has been set up to help pay the cost of their sessions. If you feel you need a scholarship, please pick up an application in the church office before scheduling an appointment with Tavia.
